.

Hawkeye Community Theatre wants to encourage young people to enter the rich educational area of theater. We realize that college costs are extremely high and that simple words of encouragement are not enough.

Therefore, Hawkeye Community Theatre is proud to be the provider of scholarships to students who are seniors in high school or freshman in college who show abilities, achievements and love for theatrical endeavors. The Board of Directors reserves the right to award either one or multiple scholarships in the amount of no less than $300 and no more than $750. These scholarships may be renewed for a second year.

To be considered, the applicant must complete an application and include three references. The references can be any of the following: school theater director, school counselor, adviser or teacher, clergy, community associate, neighbor, or business person.

The scholarship(s) will be awarded on the basis of the student's interest, participation and ability in the area of performing arts.

The scholarship will be paid directly to the school upon evidence or proof of registration after school begins in the fall.
